A new national holiday – the longest day. You are looking at part of the campaign I developed for this self-created national holiday. The longest day was on June 20, 2024. The term "longest day" refers to the day with the most time between sunrise and sunset, also known as the "summer solstice" (each year, there is a longest day, which always falls around June 20).

Three posters provide humorous suggestions for how to spend the day:

1. "Eat enough ice cream on the longest day."

2. "Stay out of the sun on the longest day." (A play on words, since the sun isn’t always good for your skin.)

3. "Stay in the water on the longest day."

At the bottom, there are also three posters related to the first three, offering even more ideas for what to do on that day. They say:

1. "Spend the longest day in the sun."

2. "In the park on the longest day."

3. "Swim in the pool on the longest day."

For these words and phrases, I also designed a custom typeface with extra "long" letters. The D, P, L, and Z even have multiple variations. The only letter missing is a Q, simply because I didn’t need to create one for my words and phrases.

Een nieuwe nationale feestdag - de langste dag. Je ziet een gedeelte van de campagne die ik heb ontwikkeld voor deze zelfverzonnen nationale feestdag. De langste dag was op 20 juni in 2024, de term langste dag staat voor de dag met de langste tijd tussen zonsopkomst en zonsondergang, het wordt ook wel het 'zomerpunt' genoemd. (Elk jaar is er een langste dag en dat valt altijd rond 20 juni).

Voor de woorden en zinnen heb ik ook een apart lettertype ontwikkeld met extra 'lange' letters, de D, P, L en Z hebben zelfs meerdere varianten. De enige letter die mist is een Q omdat ik die simpelweg niet hoefde te creëren voor mijn woorden en zinnen.
